Loca.Fi is a powerful RFID asset tracking platform, versatile enough to manage your inventory and assets. Loca.Fi uses RFID data captured by fixed and mobile readers to provide real time asset and inventory visibility across a multitude of locations.
Loca.Fi is built on Microsoft technologies, with all data being securely stored in a Microsoft SQL Server Database. The web front end is accessible from desktop, tablet and mobile devices.
Core System Elements
Items are anything that you want to track in the Loca.Fi system, they can have a unique tag number allocated to them which is used to identify and track them via Handheld and Portal readers. Items can have any number of custom properties assigned to them to allow unique data to be recorded per item, and they can be grouped into categories for easy management. The Loca.Fi system allows items to be moved between Persons and Places within the system, and stores the complete Item history for all of these movements.
Places are physical locations within your organisation/work site/company etc, between which you want to track the movements of your Items. Places define where Items are, they are the scope of Inventories, the source and destination of Orders, and more. You can move Items between Places manually on the web, semi-automated via the Handheld, for fully autonomously via fixed portal readers.
Persons are people within the Loca.Fi system. They can move Items and have Items assigned to them, be the recipients of orders, and more.
Categories are a way of grouping Items of the same or similar types together. Every Item belongs to a Category, and Categories can be used to define what custom data properties Items have.
The Loca.Fi system has a complete set of user management features, allowing any number of custom 'Roles' to be created and assigned to a user(s) which define the access level a user has to the components of the system. Using the 'Roles' you can control a user’s ability to view data, ad new data, edit existing data and delete data.
Create a catalogue of all the different categories of items that exist within your business and define custom data templates for the items.
Create items, capturing RFID tag number and custom data properties for each item.
Create locations within your business that you track and trace the movement of items between.
Nest child locations beneath their parents to create a hierarchical layout reflecting your business and enabling detailed stock and inventory reporting.
Perform detailed Inventories on the items in the locations of your business, allowing you to identify Items that are in their correct locations, and Items that are not.
Perform quick stocktakes of your Items allowing you to quickly and accurately obtain stock data.
Allocate, verify, despatch & receive orders of tagged items.
Run detailed reports to see the current and historical stock levels, inventory status, Item movements, and more.
Mobile RFID Readers:
Handheld RFID readers allow users to 'Geiger Search' for items, Inventory/Stocktake Items, Move Items, Identify Items, perform Audits of Items and more.
Automated RFID Read Points:
Fixed reader portals allow for autonomous capture of RFID data, and autonomous processing of Items movements.
Loca.Fi has a secure API that allows for easy integration with 3rd party systems including ERP systems, asset management systems, weigh bridge systems, PLC and SCADA systems, warehouse management systems, finance systems, logistics systems and terminal operating systems.
Loca.Fi exposes a rich, secure, web API for integration with 3rd party applications. All of Loca.Fi’s core functionality is available via this RESTful API which 3rd party applications can access using a secure access token provided by RAMP. Through the API, the applications have access to view, create, update and delete items within the system (pending permissions), and can view report data, such as item movements, stock counts, order history, etc.
The API provides a secure single integration point to Locafi, and accepts and returns data via JSON objects. The API also provides ODATA V4 compliant controllers for accessing data, allowing clients the flexibility to formulate their own searches/reports by performing ‘over the wire’ queries on the Loca.Fi database.
Loca.Fi Integration Service:
The Loca.Fi Integration Service acts as a middleware between the Loca.Fi system and 3rd Party applications.
The service receives notifications of events from the Loca.Fi system, including item creations and item movements, and exports the details of these events in a custom file format that is readable by the 3rd Party application.
Similarly the application is able to import files that are exported by 3rd Party applications into the Loca.Fi system. These files are read and the data is processed and converted into the required format.
The formats for the files that are imported and exported by the integration service are completely customisable, allowing for integration with many 3rd party applications to be quick and hassle free.
The Loca.Fi Integration Service is extremely flexible in the format of the file(s) that it imports and the file(s) that it exports. It is assumed that the file(s) will be of a flat structure, and for each file you should be able to configure the data delimiter, and the data mapping from the file data fields to this systems data fields. This configuration is setup in a configuration file. As part of the configuration you should also be able to set the folder location to import and export from/to (separate folders) and the frequency of import/export.
The front end for the Loca.Fi system that provides a web interface for accessing data within the Loca.Fi database. The website supports Desktop, Tablet and Mobile devices.
Loca.Fi Mobile App
The Loca.Fi Mobile App is an Android application for use with integrated Android RFID Handheld readers, or any Android device paired with a Bluetooth RFID Reader.
The Loca.Fi Mobile App allows portable handheld devices to be used as part of the Loca.Fi system, to view and edit online data and to capture RFID data.

Loca.Fi Print Client
Allows for easy printing and assigning of tag numbers from the Loca.Fi database, ensuring that all tag numbers are unique.
Loca.Fi Desktop Client
A Desktop client that allows for RFID data capture and user input to process the Item movements. A customisable application that combines a desktop RFID reader and PC/Tablet to create a user operable RFID workstation for checking in/out items, processing orders, etc.
Loca.Fi Portal Client
The Loca.Fi portal client is a headless service that controls the automated RFID read points, automatically reading RFID tags and processing Item movements with the Loca.Fi server.
The Loca.Fi Portal Client utilises a Compact SQL database for local storage of data when required due to lack of network connectivity.
